Hit-and-run accident in the Tyrolean lowlands: A 68-year-old cyclist was hit by a car in Niederndorf (Kufstein district) on Monday afternoon and fell as a result. The man suffered serious injuries. The driver of the car continued driving.
The serious accident happened shortly before 5 p.m. The 68-year-old resident was cycling on the Erler Landesstraße from Erl towards Niederndorf when he was overtaken by a – probably black – car.
Cyclist seriously injured on the road
“While overtaking, the cyclist was hit on the left arm by the car, causing him to fall and lie on the road with serious injuries,” police said.
The driver continued his journey without stopping or providing first aid. So far there is no trace of him.
The police are looking for possible witnesses
The seriously injured man received first aid from passers-by and was then taken to Kufstein Hospital by the emergency services.
