Deployment for the St. Pölten-Stadt fire brigade in the Dr. Otto Glöcklschule in St. Pölten-Viehofen: A student was so stuck in a chair that even adults could no longer help her. All that was left was to pick up the phone.
Even Florianis rarely experiences something so strange: the fire brigade was in the Dr. Otto Glöckl primary school called St. Pölten-Viehofen. One student had her pelvis trapped between the backrest and the seat of an armchair.
The fire brigade had to intervene to ‘save other people’, as they put it, because even adult helpers were unable to free the little girl from the chair. It soon became clear to the emergency services that the furniture had to be dismantled.
A case for cuddly toys and cordless screwdrivers
After a brief state of affairs, the Florianis got to work: using the cordless screwdriver, they carefully drilled out the mounting rivets from the backrest. During the careful work, the little one received a fire brigade cuddly toy from the emergency services to calm her down.
The girl was unharmed
“It is unclear how the child accomplished this feat,” the fire brigade said about the strange incident. They were happy that they had ‘rescued’ the girl unharmed. The hug could be kept as a reminder of the difficult situation. The operation went relatively smoothly. “For the children it was more like a fire drill was being held,” observers report.
