Russia issues arrest warrant for Zelensky

As the Ministry of Internal Affairs has indicated, without providing further details, he is wanted in connection with a crime described in the Russian Criminal Code.

Russia declared this on Saturday search and seizure to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. “The Ukrainian president has been included in the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ list of people wanted and captured,” the official Russian agency TASS reported.

Zelenskiy, the ministry has noted, is wanted in connection with a crime referred to in the Criminal Code from Russia, without giving further details.

Also this Saturday, Russia declared that the former Ukrainian president was wanted and captured. Petro Poroshenkowho was head of state between 2014 and 2019.

Authorities have previously issued arrest warrants for others high ranks from Ukraine.

Kiev sees despair

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, in turn, has indicated that Russia’s inclusion of the Ukrainian president on the wanted list is an example of Moscow’s “desperation.”
