Vehicles shot at: six killed in Ukrainian attack in border area

Date:

According to authorities, six people have been killed by drones in the Russian border region of Belgorod. The Ukrainian army shot at three vehicles, including two buses carrying workers, the region’s governor said on Monday.

The attack also injured 35 people, including two children. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov published a photo of a badly damaged bus. Russia’s border regions have repeatedly come under fire, but attacks resulting in multiple deaths are rare. Ukraine itself records the most deaths and injuries.

9,000 children evacuated
More than a month ago, the governor of Belgorod released images showing the evacuation of 1,200 children from the region (see video above). A total of 9,000 would be brought east. At the time, sixteen people were killed in attacks. Experts suspected that Russian saboteurs might be behind it.

The war opponent reported on Monday a Russian air strike on a region in the north. The military government announced that the electricity supply had been temporarily interrupted. Ukrainian air defenses shot down twelve of thirteen attack drones on Monday night. There was initially no information about the drone, which had not been shot down.
