The verdict was delivered on Wednesday in the Burgtheater case against Florian Teichtmeister. The Haus am Ring – as the ‘Krone’ reported – sued its former figurehead for almost 100,000 euros in damages after Teichtmeister was criminally convicted of possessing and producing child pornography abuse files. The findings of the Labor and Social Court will probably be more than sobering for the renowned theater.
On 26 pages, the responsible judge discusses in detail the individual claims of plaintiff Burgtheater GmbH. On January 13, 2023, ex-Burg star Florian Teichtmeister was released after the criminal complaint for child pornography became known. According to the lawsuit, the house suffered damages due to, among other things, canceling the “Next Door” piece, redesigning print materials or withdrawing a sponsor. In addition, the scandal resulted in high costs for crisis communications and external legal advice.
