A driver (62) who was not allowed to be behind the wheel wanted to flee the grid square in Burgenland. The man, who does not have a driver’s license, fled from police. After a short chase, traffic police were able to stop the fleeing driver. He awaits a severe punishment!
For decades it was not noticed that a driver from the Oberpullendorf district was driving without a driver’s license. Before Ascension Day, the now 62-year-old driver ended up on a grid square. To avoid being exposed, the traffic offender stepped on the gas and fled.
The officials were amazed
The police gave chase with flashing lights and horns. Shortly afterwards the speeding offender was arrested. The traffic police officers were surprised: during the check they discovered that the Burgenlander had been driving a car for more than 40 years, but did not even have a driver’s license.
Fell into the speed trap
Although this driver is licensed to drive, he was not adhering to the speed limit. In Bocksdorf in the Güssing district, the speeding offender was “flashed” at a speed of 95 km/h. Only 50 km/h is allowed.
A moped rider also fell into the speed trap when he sped past the police at 68 km/h. As the two-wheeler showed technical tampering, the number plate was removed.
In both cases, the district administration has received relevant reports. A total of 112 speeding fines have been reported after speed cameras. A further 234 reports of all kinds were filed and 228 criminal warrants were issued.
Brakes completely broken
Police stopped a demolition truck in Potzneusiedl in the Neusiedl am See district. Due to defective brakes, the driver of the Romanian semi-trailer had to be banned from continuing his journey. “Because the brake caliper on one wheel of the trailer was completely missing and one wheel brake cylinder was locked, the system had no effect whatsoever. The service brake did not work on another axle,” the state transport service said.
The conclusion: “The driver knowingly made his journey on the A6 in an extremely defective truck that was not roadworthy or operationally safe. This is dangerous to the public.” The license plates have been confiscated and deposits have been collected.
No alcohol drivers
The police also paid the greatest attention to driving under the influence on the national grid square on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. As part of 790 driver checks, 355 breath tests or breath tests were carried out, all negative.
