The victims from Austria are said to be a woman (49) and a man (54). The two were killed on Thursday when a small plane crashed shortly after take-off from Challes-les-Eaux airport in France.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed similar reports from French media on Friday.
House evacuated due to explosion hazard
According to reports, the 54-year-old was piloting the single-engine plane and the 49-year-old woman was on board as a passenger. They therefore landed in Challes-les-Eaux to refuel before leaving again. Due to the risk of explosion, a house not far from the accident site had to be evacuated.
