Accident in the middle of the forest
But deploying the rescue team proved more difficult than expected. Because the accident site was in the middle of the forest. After a long walk, the helpers finally reached the injured man and treated the 18-year-old together with a couple who happened to be there. The mountain biker was really lucky: the couple is a trauma surgeon and an emergency paramedic from Baden.
The emergency helicopter landed in a meadow about a kilometer from the accident site. With the support of the fire brigade, the injured man was taken through the impassable terrain to the helicopter, which flew him to the hospital.
