Two paintings were stolen from a hotel in central Vienna on Friday. The damage amounts to five figures. The suspected perpetrator was filmed via a surveillance camera. Police are now asking for information.
The previously unknown man purposefully entered the unlocked meeting room on the ground floor around 6 p.m. Unnoticed, he blocked the emergency exit door with a ballpoint pen and then left the hotel again.
The man returned around 8:15 p.m. However, this time he entered the meeting room directly through the emergency exit door he blocked. He stole two paintings and fled on foot.
Description of the perpetrator
Images of the man were captured on a hotel surveillance camera. He was wearing a red hoodie, light-colored pants, brown shoes and a beige jacket.
The police now ask (also anonymously) for relevant information by calling 01/31310-33800.
