A major fire broke out in a shopping center in the Polish capital Warsaw on Saturday evening. According to the fire brigade, almost the entire complex, which houses around 1,400 shops, is on fire.
More than two hundred firefighters were present, including chemical and environmental specialists, the Polish news agency PAP reported on Sunday. Drone footage (see video above) shows thick black smoke above the department store, which is located in the Bialoleka district.
According to the Reuters news agency, the fire broke out on Saturday evening. A police spokesperson told PAP that no people were injured.
It will take “hours” before the fire is completely extinguished, the chief commander of the state fire brigade said at a news conference on Sunday.
