Whether it was a momentary lack of attention, bad luck or some other cause: A 45-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his motorcycle on Sunday evening in Kals am Großglockner. Unfortunately he wasn’t wearing a helmet…
Despite some rain showers in the afternoon, Mother’s Day offered perfect conditions for a motorcycle trip. A 45-year-old also cycled in East Tyrol.
Fall after a few meters
After a stop at a restaurant in Kals am Großglockner, he got back on the bike around 7:05 p.m. “After a few meters in the unpaved parking lot, for reasons that are still unclear, he lost control of the motorcycle and fell,” the police said. “He suffered injuries to the head area and the right side of his body.”
By helicopter to the LKH
Fortunately, there were two people on site who immediately provided first aid until the rescue helicopter Christophorus 7 arrived at the scene of the accident. “He was first flown to LKH Lienz and from there transferred to LKH Klagenfurt,” the police continued. “According to the investigation, the person involved in the accident may not have been wearing a motorcycle helmet.”
