A theologian from Salzburg had almost a thousand files of child pornography on his PC. He had the banned images printed in his own photo albums. That’s how the case came about. During the trial he made a confession.
Holding his arm by his wife, the early retiree (56) walks into hall 204 of the regional court with a walking stick. The academic, who has a degree in theology, viewed child pornography and had no fewer than 971 files on his home computer. But it came about on the bearded man’s orders: he had a German company make photo albums with the child porn images – seven times. The company in question recognized the images and called the police. The theologian’s house was raided. And now he had the opportunity to explain it himself: “Originally it was an accidental find. “I somehow got in there during the Covid period,” the accused said and made a confession. He never did this before 2020. Now he regrets it.
According to the lawyer, the theologian has visited a psychotherapist since the search. He must continue this therapy, the judge ordered him and found him guilty – but according to old case law with a lower penalty. Sentence: eight months conditional and 480 euros fine.
