She is 92 years old and lives alone – basically the perfect victim for grandkids scammers. But instead, a South Carolina great-grandmother waits for phone scammers to try to reach her as she scares everyone away.
Her granddaughter Cheyenne Toney has now posted videos online of her grandmother, who calls her by the pet name ‘Bumma’ within the family. And these videos became a hit. Toney told her followers under the videos: “My grandma is still mentally aware and has a great sense of humor. She is pure entertainment and I wanted to pass that on!”
According to Toney, her ‘Bumma’ is constantly being called by telephone scammers and corrupt salespeople who have chosen the wrong victim. In a video clip you see how a fraudster tries the grandchild trick on the 92-year-old. She is led to believe that a grandson has been arrested after a car accident and desperately needs money for bail. But ‘Bumma’ screams so hysterically into the phone that the fraudster hangs up, swearing.
