Russian authorities have again reported a Ukrainian airstrike on the Belgorod border area. A woman suffered a spinal injury. However, there are doubts about this representation – on both warring sides.
In the regional capital of the same name, approximately twenty houses and an electricity cable were reportedly damaged. Air defenses shot down 25 missiles fired by the Ukrainian army over the region, the Russian Defense Ministry said. Attacks on Belgorod have increased recently. On Sunday alone, according to Russian information, 15 people were killed when parts of an apartment building collapsed after the building was hit by debris from rocket fire (see video above).
Tochka-U missiles cause other damage
The Ukrainian army says it wants to attack infrastructure to supply Russian troops and speaks of a response to the numerous attacks by the war opponent. However, some observers have doubts about this view. The Ukrainian Tochka-U missiles that Russian authorities are talking about would generally cause damage other than what is shown in photos and videos. There has been no official response from Ukraine yet.
The Russian border area is repeatedly attacked. However, the victims and damage are not comparable to the consequences of the war in Ukraine itself. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian military said it intercepted 18 Russian attack drones on Tuesday evening. They were shot, among other things, at the front above the Kiev region and the eastern regions.
