Zelenskyj: Situation stable – The Ukrainian army has slowed down the Russian advance

Date:

The Ukrainian army says it has delayed the advance of Russian troops in the northeast of the country. During a visit, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi spoke of a stable situation and said the situation was “generally manageable”.

“Our fighters are inflicting noticeable losses on the occupiers,” he said on Thursday. Zelensky said he met Commander-in-Chief Olexander Syrsky and army commanders. At the same time, he acknowledged the problems in the Kharkov region. According to the Ukrainian General Staff, fighting continues in the northern neighborhoods of a small town, but further advances of Russian troops are thwarted.

According to Russian sources, the enemy is currently approaching the village of Lypzi and preparing to take it. The capture of several villages in the region had previously been reported (see video above).

“Wake-up call must be heard”
Ahead of the offensive against Kharkiv, British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps has warned against providing long-term support to the war-torn country. “I really hope that this is the wake-up call that we have been trying to send and that it is now heard.” You cannot afford to be inattentive or distracted by a new conflict.

When asked, he mentioned, for example, the American government, which had delayed too long with the latest aid packages. Fortunately, help is now coming, allowing the Ukrainian army to better defend itself again.
