Incredible scenes took place in Innsbruck on Wednesday evening: three men attacked a 23-year-old driver because of the damage he had caused to the parking lot. They brutally attacked him, causing him to suffer, among other things, a broken jaw. After a short escape, two suspects were arrested, one of whom went into hiding.
According to the current investigation, the 23-year-old caused parking damage to the car of a 39-year-old Romanian with his car. This apparently made him so angry that he kicked the 23-year-old together with a fellow countryman (20) and an unknown perpetrator. “The victim suffered, among other things, a broken jaw,” the police report.
Passers-by prevented further attacks
The Romanians only let go of their victim when passersby shouted. The 20-year-old suspect and the unknown perpetrator then fled on foot.
Brave man stood in front of the car
“The 39-year-old Romanian wanted to flee in his car, but a 58-year-old Austrian stood in front of the vehicle to prevent him from escaping. However, the Romanian continued driving, causing the Austrian to be thrown onto the bonnet and dragged for approximately 30 meters before falling onto the road,” investigators said. The 58-year-old was injured.
Arrest on the Brenner highway
The driver eventually managed to escape. But this was only short-lived. The 39-year-old was stopped and arrested by police on the Brenner highway. The 20-year-old suspect was also found and arrested. The third suspect is still being sought.
Further research and interviews will follow.
