The professional fire brigade of Klagenfurt was called in on Thursday for a very special mission: a small deer fawn got stuck in a crack and had to be rescued.
Attentive passers-by noticed the cute animal and immediately alerted the emergency services. The fawn had fallen through a narrow gap between a concrete foundation and a foundation slab and had no chance to free itself.
When the fire brigade arrived on the scene, a hunter happened to be present: “Together we were able to save the animal that had had an accident.” The emergency services emphasize that the cub was freed “with gloves and in compliance with all the protective measures necessary for the animal.”
“The mother of the fawn kept a close eye on the rescue operation and then lovingly took her young one back into her care,” it says: “Thank you very much to everyone involved and especially to the hunter, who will continue to keep an eye on the fawn next days! “
