When reversing out of a parking space, a 36-year-old went too far down a steep slope and the car threatened to slide. With the help of two witnesses, a tragedy was prevented.
A Hungarian woman (36) wanted to reverse out of a parking lot on a farm in Spittal. “She came too far into a steep meadow, causing the car to skid,” said a police officer.
Witnesses stabilized the car
Two witnesses who happened to be present and had observed the dangerous scenes did not hesitate for a second. Together they were able to stabilize the vehicle until the driver was able to jump out of the vehicle to safety.
“She ended up on the dike about twenty meters away with serious injuries,” the police said.
The car crashed into a group of trees
Still, she was lucky: the vehicle rolled about 200 meters downhill and only came to a stop in a grove of trees. The wreckage from the accident was recovered by the St.Peter/Spittal volunteer fire brigade; the woman was taken to hospital.
