The Israeli government has prevented the international press from entering the Gaza Strip since October 7 and in early May banned the Qatari network Al Jazeera from operating in Israel in an attempt to control information about Gaza.

“These heroes were murdered by the Israeli occupation army in an attempt to cover up the Palestinian story and hide the truth. But the occupation failed to break the will of our great people,” the Palestinian media agency said in a statement on Friday.
The Council to Protect Journalists (CPJ), based in New York, has in turn confirmed the deaths of at least 105 journalists and media workers – including 100 Palestinians, two Israelis and three Lebanese – in a war that has already killed more than 100 people. 35,000 dead in Gaza.
In addition, CPJ has assured that there are at least four journalists whose whereabouts are unknown, 16 have been injured and 25 have been arrested; and has denounced the continued suffering of “attacks, threats, cyberattacks, censorship and murders of family members.”
In addition, since the October 7 Hamas attack, the Israeli government has prevented the international press from entering the Gaza Strip and sometimes allows embedded visits by its forces.
Many of the Gazan journalists who began covering this war have left a devastated enclave that has run out of safe spaces, making it difficult to access information on the ground.
Furthermore, in early May, Israel banned the Qatari network Al Jazeera from operating in the country in an effort to control information about Gaza, where the network has numerous reporters.
