The accident happened on Thursday evening in the middle of Wels: a 27-year-old drove his car head-on into a wall and had to be rescued from the vehicle by emergency services. His passenger (25) was lucky in the crash.
The 27-year-old from Wels traveled west on Hans-Sachs-Straße with his passenger (25) on Thursday around 8 p.m. For unknown reasons, he drove his car head-on into a wall on Eisenfeldstrasse.
Helicopter in use
The Welsh fire brigade rescued the injured driver from the vehicle. An emergency medical helicopter also flew to the scene of the accident. The 27-year-old was eventually taken to Welsh Hospital by ambulance.
His passenger probably survived the accident in shock; according to police, she was unharmed.
The B1 Wiener Straße, Hans-Sachs-Straße was closed in the area of the accident for about half an hour.
