Too much and too little – drinking water is still a problem in warm areas, even as the world as a whole becomes wetter. There is no shortage of water in the world. The oceans contain 1.33 billion cubic kilometers of water, unfortunately an average of 3.5 percent salt is dissolved in them. This compares to a relatively modest 35 million cubic kilometers of fresh water, of which almost 70 percent is frozen – so not immediately usable as ice and snow.
