Dramatic Alpine accident on Tuesday evening in East Tyrol: a Dutch (61) slid on a climb and crashed 30 meters. He was seriously injured. The injured person could only be found and flown to the hospital in the morning.
The 61-year-old Dutch people climbed on Tuesday with a fellow countryman (58) from the Badener Hütte via the Wilvenkogelscartsteig to Matreier Tauernhaus. For the tour you should have used longer than planned. In the evening, when it was already dark, it happened!
Crashed 30 meters above steep terrain
The 61-year-old slid on a wet climb at about 2400 meters above sea level and then fell about 30 meters before he was seriously injured in the field. “The companion relegated to the accident and did the emergency call at 9.18 pm,” the police reported.
Bad weather demanded emergency services
Despite unfavorable weather conditions, two mountain rescues could be flown near the accident place with the rescue helicopter. Another 13 emergency services had to climb and only reached the injured around 3 o’clock in the morning for all involved, it was ultimately important to harden on the mountain until the day of the day.
It was only in the early morning that the seriously injured 61-year-old was finally recovered with the Libelle Police Helicopter and then flown to the Klagenfurt clinic.
