On Wednesday evening, two men in Vienna-Penzing were forced to search their car by an armed man (35) posing as a police officer. However, the pair reacted promptly after the suspect failed to produce identification.
The incident took place around 2:40 am in Kefergasse. When the suspect stopped the two men, he suddenly pulled out an airsoft gun and forced them to search the car. However, the two men became suspicious about whether he was a real police officer after he failed to show identification. They immediately alerted the real police. At the same time, they managed to overpower and detain the 35-year-old.
Temporary arrest
When officers arrived, they were able to confiscate the fake officer’s airsoft pistol, a butterfly knife, a police vest and a small amount of narcotics, believed to be crystal meth. The suspect was temporarily arrested on suspicion of serious coercion, violation of authority and possession of narcotics.
I can not remember
The 35-year-old was under the influence of drugs at the time and claimed during questioning that he could not remember the incident. He is currently staying in a penitentiary.
