Instead of having her own job, Valentina Cavallar now has to stretch her elbows and fight for positions. The 23-year-old Viennese once rowed at the Olympic Games, but now dared to switch to cycling – and immediately rode into the spotlight on her first major tour, the Itzulia!

“I felt good and thought: why not? And then I just pedaled as fast as I could,” smiled Valentina Cavallar. Who delivered a strong test of talent last week during her premiere on the UCI Cycling World Tour in Itzulia Women in the Spanish Basque Country, taking the mountain jersey in the first stage and defending it in the second.
