Accomplices caught – luxury cars stolen: loot gone, thieves convicted

Date:

They were the accomplices, the executors – and only briefly in the luxury cars stolen on their behalf. A Turk and two Poles went to prison for this, while someone else drove away with the valuable loot – almost two million euros worth of metal. The reward for the thieves would have been ridiculously small.

Last autumn, a Turk and two Poles stole seven cars, or rather luxury SUVs worth around 1.7 million euros, from the parking lot of the vehicle logistics company Hödlmayr in Schwertberg. On Thursday they had to answer for this at the Linz regional court. The first defendant, Tamer Y. (41), had access to the closely guarded parking lot with thousands of cars as an employee. The first time he let the second defendant Kamil S. (27) in, other times he cut himself through the fence. Pawel H. (27), who allegedly drove only one car from the site, was also charged.

Impeccable to this day
All three previously blameless but heavily indebted workers had been recruited and managed by unknown or fugitive financiers. They drove several Mercedes G 63 AMGs, a BMW. Everyone received 1,500 euros per vehicle, but now prison sentences were added: Tamer Y. and Kamil S. each received four years without fail plus a high compensation of five figures, Pawel H. had to go to prison for ten months. Some statements are legally binding.
