Styria proposes a marriage at an altitude of 10,000 meters

Date:

Pure romance in the Boeing 777. A Styrian applied to his partner on the AUA flight to Los Angeles (see also the video above!). The Austrian crew celebrated this event with champagne. Only son Simon (8) suspected that something was in the air. Wedding bells rang in Las Vegas then.

Three hours after departing from Vienna Airport, a passenger on flight OS81 made a very special announcement on Monday: “Dear guests, my name is Hermann Rohrleitner and I would like to give a special thank you to Austrian Airlines, who made all this possible for me here above the clouds my beloved can ask the question of all: baby, will you be my wife?

With these words, the 52-year-old from Styria asked for the hand of his long-term partner Sonja Kiszner at an altitude of 10,000 meters. As befits a gentleman, he gave his partner the engagement ring on his knees. A “yes” came easily from Sonja Kiszner’s lips. An emotional moment for all the passengers who applauded and cheered the newly engaged couple.

To celebrate the day, the Austrian crew poured champagne to the lovers. “We go through ups and downs, but always together,” says the groom-to-be. Son Simon (8) already suspected that something special was in the air: “I knew it!” was his exclamation as he witnessed the application. Then the wedding bells rang in Las Vegas in theGraceland Wedding Chapel.

“It happens again and again that there are marriage proposals on our flights,” reports AUA spokeswoman Vera Mair. “On board Austrian Airlines, the wedding bells have not yet rung, also due to safety regulations.”
