Horror in Germany after the death of a 13-year-old from the Kassel district: the student strangled herself to unconsciousness because of a TikTok challenge.
On the night of April 26 to 27, the family found the girl unconscious in her room. An emergency doctor called to the scene could only determine that the 13-year-old was dead.

The parents eventually made a gruesome discovery on the teen’s cell phone: the student had been recording videos for a bizarre TikTok trend called the “Blackout Challenge,” in which teens choke themselves until they literally “black out.” to the point of unconsciousness.
The girl from Kassel had made several attempts, which she captured on video; the latter was fatal for the student. The Kassel public prosecutor’s office confirmed the incident to German local media and said an investigation had been launched.

The student was buried two weeks ago in her hometown, with many condolences from family and friends. In a post on Facebook, the girl’s mother urgently warned: “Watch your children, social media destroys a lot.”
