“Antisocial behavior” – Sylter Bar takes action against racist slogans

Date:

On Thursday, a video went viral showing partygoers on the German North Sea island of Sylt shouting racist slogans (see video above). The owners of Pony restaurant announced that the people have now been identified and reported. “We will not tolerate this deeply antisocial behavior.”

“We never have and we never will. That is why we are now taking all possible action against it,” the team wrote on Instagram. People are shocked and appalled. “Racism and fascism have no place in our society.” The staff would not have noticed the guests’ behavior, otherwise they would have responded immediately, called the police and filed a report.

Police are investigating allegations of sedition
The video, which went viral on Thursday, lasts only a few seconds and is said to have been made around Pentecost. You can see and hear how young people in the chic holiday resort Kampen shout racist slogans to the tune of the party hit “L’amour Toujours” (in German: Always sweet, pay attention) by Gigi D’Agostino. They sing “Germany for the Germans – foreigners out!” The gesture of a man is reminiscent of the Hitler salute. The surrounding guests do not respond.

The state security service is now investigating allegations of incitement to hatred and the use of unconstitutional license plates. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) called the statements “disgusting” and “unacceptable” on Friday. “Anyone who shouts Nazi slogans like ‘Germany for the Germans – foreigners out’ is a shame for Germany,” said Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD).

A similar case in Lower Saxony
On Friday it was announced that a similar case had occurred in Lower Saxony. At the shooting festival in Löningen, racist slogans were also shouted to the tune of “L’amour Toujours”. State security is investigating.
