The weather in April towards the end of May is what Geosphere Austria’s forecast for the coming week, published on Sunday, looks like. It is expected to remain unstable and only moderately warm.
In the eastern half of Austria it will remain mainly sunny and dry on Monday. Isolated rain showers are limited to the mountains and hills. However, further west there will be considerably more cloud cover during the day and there will also be one or two showers. Isolated thunderstorms are possible from noon, especially in Tyrol and Vorarlberg. 8 to 14 degrees in the morning, 20 to 26 degrees during the day.
Showers replace sunshine
A cold front will move over Austria from the west on Tuesday with dense clouds and rain showers. Before the disturbance, there will still be a sunny start to the day in the eastern parts of the country, on the eastern edge of the Alps and in southeastern Styria, but clouds and showers will replace the sunshine by the afternoon. Occasionally, individual thunderstorms can mix with the precipitation here. As the afternoon progresses, the tendency for showers from the west finally decreases and clouds begin to clear. The maximum values are 14 to 23 degrees.
The sun will prevail during the day on Wednesday. Usually only a few innocent cloud fields or cumulus clouds pass by. Only above the western mountains will the shower tendency increase slightly in the afternoon. The maximum temperatures are between 18 and 24 degrees.
Heavy rain again on Thursday
A disturbance zone will cause dense cloud and sometimes heavy rain in the west early on Thursday, but in the far east and southeast the morning will still be quite sunny. As the day progresses, dense clouds and rain showers will also spread to the eastern half. Local thunderstorms are also possible. Temperatures are about the same as the previous day.
It will also rain on Friday
Another disturbance area will bring heavy rainfall over large parts of Austria from the southwest from Friday morning. In the afternoon the weather only slowly improves, the rain turns into showers and there are also breaks in the rain. Every now and then the sun comes out. Early temperatures: 8 to 13 degrees, daily highs: 15 to 22 degrees.
