A 72-year-old messed with the wrong man. The initially unknown person called the Vienna Hofburg – the official residence of our Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen – and threatened to cause a “bloodbath”. The bodyguards, or the officers of the special Cobra unit who had been appointed for this, did not like that at all.

“The caller turned out to be a 72-year-old Austrian who had called from his holiday home in Bad Kleinkirchheim,” said a police officer. Investigators from the Lower Austria Criminal Police then asked their Carinthian colleagues for help. On Tuesday afternoon, the 72-year-old was arrested by police officers in Bad Kleinkirchheim and taken to the police station.
interrogation and reporting
“The holidaymaker has been interrogated by colleagues,” says the officer. The police officers also took his cell phone to forensically secure the data on the device. After consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, the man is now being reported.
