A pensioner had a particularly unfortunate fall into a well shaft in Launsdorf, Carinthia, on Wednesday morning. Only after more than 90 minutes did someone hear her calling for help.
In the early morning hours, the 82-year-old stepped on a rotten well shaft cover – suddenly it broke through. “She ended up in an unfortunate position when she fell about 1.5 meters deep,” reports the Thalsdorf volunteer fire brigade. “She suffered unspecified injuries that prevented her from freeing herself.” But it took a while before her desperate cries for help were heard.
“Only after almost 90 minutes did neighbors and relatives hear the victim and immediately started the rescue chain around 9 a.m.,” the fire brigade continues.
Fortunately, it happened quickly and the 82-year-old was rescued by the fire brigade and handed over to the rescue team. The helpers from Launsdorf, Thalsdorf, St. Donat and St. Veit were on duty.
