A rescue operation near the Barbara Bridge in Schwaz in Tyrol caused a stir last year. A mother and her child (5) drifted into the inn, but were fortunately rescued. Because the woman from Yemen let her son play next to the raging river, she now had to answer to court. She stated that she was not aware of the danger.
It could have ended in tragedy! At the end of October, a five-year-old child fell at the inn in Schwaz. His mother (29) tried to pull him out of the water, but was dragged away herself. Rescue divers pulled the two non-swimmers lifeless from the water ten minutes later. Fortunately, they were successfully resuscitated.
Because the Yemeni woman apparently let her child play by the river without securing it, she now found herself in court. “I was not aware of the danger,” said the now heavily pregnant woman. According to her lawyer, the 29-year-old almost lost her life during the rescue attempt. “Therefore, she cannot be accused of neglect.”
The suspect immediately accepted the verdict
The judge saw it differently. “You didn’t take enough care of your child!” The defendant was fined 600 euros – she must definitely pay 200 euros. The woman immediately accepted the verdict, but it is not yet final.
