Since the fatal dog attack in Naarn, there have been repeated reports of incidents involving aggressive four-legged friends in Austria. On Wednesday evening there was another incident in the Leibnitz district of Styria: a seven-year-old girl was bitten on the upper body by a dog. Seriously injured, she had to be flown to the LKH Graz.
According to initial findings, the dog is a Rottweiler. The child and his father were visiting relatives in Leibnitz who have two male dogs as pets.
Bitten on the upper body
When the family entered the property, the dogs were in the back of the garden. Suddenly, one of the four-legged friends ran up to the girl and bit her on the upper body, police said Thursday.
The little girl had to be flown to LKH Graz by the crew of the Christophorus 12 rescue helicopter with serious injuries.
Last Saturday a dog bite is said to have occurred in Upper Austria. The victim was a boy less than two years old. He got light on his face from a beagle.
