A man in the US took part in a court hearing on video for driving without a license – visible driving. Judge Cedric Simpson in Ann Arbor, Michigan first had to be sure he could believe his eyes, according to a video published by American media on Wednesday. When Simpson asked if the suspect was actually behind the wheel and driving a car, he responded in the affirmative.
‘Yes, I’m going to the doctor now. Give me a minute to park.” So the incident took place in mid-May.
Judge surprised
The video showed the judge waiting in shock until the car was parked. When the man’s public defender asked for the case to be adjourned, he burst out, “Okay, maybe I’m not understanding something here, but this is a case of driving without a license, and he was just driving and didn’t have a license.” license?” Simpson told the lawyer. “That’s right,” she said at the time.

Only at that point did the suspect, who was always visible on the video, seem to understand the situation and said into the camera: “Eh.” It was not known why his driver’s license was revoked in the first place.
Two days in jail
The judge then revoked the man’s bond and ordered him to surrender to the Washtenaw County Jail by evening. The American broadcaster CBS wrote that the man was released after two days in prison. The next hearing is now scheduled for June 5.
