Funded by Iran – Mossad fears attacks before the Olympics

Date:

According to media reports, Israel’s foreign secret service Mossad warns of terror against Jewish and Israeli institutions ahead of the Paris Olympics. A particular danger would come from Iranian-backed groups. The “Jerusalem Post” mentioned two groups called Foxtrot and Rumba.

Israeli media reported on Thursday that Tehran was dependent on criminal groups in Europe, according to the Mossad. The allegations could not be independently verified.

These are “directly responsible for violent activists and sponsorship of terrorism in Sweden and across Europe.” They received financial support and instructions from Iran.

Mossad: Iran is behind terror
According to Mossad, Iran is behind an incident in which a man allegedly threw an airsoft grenade at the Israeli embassy in the Brussels municipality of Uccle almost a week ago. This also applies to the shots fired two weeks ago near the Israeli embassy in Stockholm. There were no casualties in either incident.

According to information from the Mossad, Foxtrot was behind the incident in Sweden. This is also known for murders and drug trafficking and is also active in other European countries. According to reports, the leader of Foxtrot, a Swedish citizen with Kurdish roots, was arrested in Iran for criminal activities, then recruited for terrorist activities and released.

According to Mossad, Iran is trying to use the global wave of anti-Semitism in the aftermath of the Gaza war to recruit new accomplices to terrorist attacks. The Mossad is working with the European secret services to thwart these activities.

Enmity goes back a long time
Since the Islamic revolution of 1979, Israel has been Iran’s declared arch enemy. A court in Buenos Aires this year found the Iranian government responsible for a bomb attack on the Jewish community center in the Argentine capital, which killed 85 people and injured 300 others thirty years ago.

The judges ruled in April that the Shiite militia Hezbollah carried out the attack on behalf of the Iranian government. According to media reports, they also blamed Iran for an attack on the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires in 1992 that killed 29 people.
