Angry speech in New York – Trump complains about not enough “pity” after the verdict

Date:

Donald Trump expressed his anger at a press conference in Trump Tower in New York. In an angry speech lasting forty minutes, the ex-US president lamented the historic verdict and called himself a ‘victim’ of a ‘malicious judge’. The highlight of his tirade: the alleged lack of compassion.

Former US President Donald Trump described himself the day after his conviction as the victim of a “rigged trial”. He announced that he would appeal. Trump questioned the legitimacy of the ruling in front of a wall of American national flags. “They are very bad people,” the 77-year-old explained.

The verdict has not yet been determined; the judge plans to announce it in July. In any case, it already seems clear to Trump that he would be treated far too harshly – also because of his age.

A round of pity
Trump is 77 years old, so normally he would describe such a person as an “old man,” leaving himself out of the equation, of course. “My goodness, I feel sorry for this man!” He misses this kind of affection. Trump added: “Maybe I’ll be better off this way,” as he always described himself as the “fitter” candidate in the previous election campaign.

The scene described for review:

However, the actual presidential candidate is receiving pity from elsewhere. The Kremlin has seen the landmark New York conviction against Trump as evidence of the White House’s persecution of political opponents. “The fact that de facto political rivals are being eliminated there using all available legal and illegal means is clear,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters in Moscow on Friday.

Immediately after the ruling, Trump’s team asked supporters for donations. “I am a political prisoner,” the Republican politician said in an email and on his fundraising website. The fundraising website then collapsed on Thursday.

US President Joe Biden’s campaign team described Trump as a “convicted criminal.” The Republican didn’t like that very much.

Trump seemed nervous
He therefore also used his forty-minute tirade for his election campaign. He railed against migrants, called Joe Biden “the stupidest president we’ve ever had” and described the US as a “corrupt country.” Trump did not seem very strict and often jumped from one idea to another. A common thread was often not visible.

In the lawsuit, Trump was accused of trying to increase his chances of success in the 2016 presidential elections by paying $130,000 in hush money to porn actress Stormy Daniels and then illegally handling the money flow. Daniels testified in the trial that she had sex with him in Trump’s hotel suite in Lake Tahoe in 2006. The now 77-year-old denies this.
