A cutting board that was left on the switched-on stove led to a fire brigade action in a healthcare facility in Schwaz, Tyrol on Friday evening. One floor had to be evacuated. Fortunately, everything went smoothly in the end.
Around 6:45 p.m. there was a small fire in the kitchen of a healthcare institution in Schwaz. “A plastic cutting board placed on the ceramic hob began to burn unnoticed, setting off the fire alarm system,” police reported.
Floor evacuated, no injuries
The fire was extinguished before the fire brigade arrived. “The affected floor was evacuated and emergency services ventilated the affected and smoke-filled area,” the researchers said. It was no longer necessary to extinguish the fire.
Fortunately, no one was injured. A police patrol and the Schwaz volunteer fire brigade were on duty.
