The proverbial cat in a tree is an all too common scenario for the fire brigade in Lower Austria. In Guntramsdorf in the Mödling district, the comrades now had to go out to rescue goats. And that twice within 24 hours!
Apparently, goats being stubborn isn’t just a saying: According to another popular saying, the grass was apparently greener on the other side of the fence for a child. The animal tried to crawl under a fence to feast on the lush pasture outside its enclosure. However, the success was modest.
Because the four-legged friend got stuck under the fence, witnesses called the fire brigade to Industriestrasse on Sunday evening. There the Florianis met an old acquaintance: the goat had already ended up under the fence on Saturday. The volunteers skillfully dismantled the fence to free the child.
Goat was unharmed both times
On Saturday, a jogger noticed the animal’s pitiful bleating. “Shortly after the alarm was raised, two vehicles drove to the operational address and the goat was released unharmed in a few steps. As soon as she was freed from her predicament, she quickly ran back to the herd,” the June 1 operation report said.
