Early on Tuesday evening, several boulders fell on Salzachtal Straße (B159). Four cars were damaged and according to initial information there were no injuries.
Nearly 20 cubic meters of rock and stone are slipping, according to the state geological survey. The safety net in the affected area slowed the shift so that only one or two cubic meters of stone flew onto the road.
Complete closure until Wednesday afternoon
Further stabilization work on the slopes and inspections by the State Geological Survey will take place on Wednesday. The B159 will probably be completely closed to all traffic until Wednesday afternoon (June 5).
Highway closure due to fire drill
A long-planned fire drill will take place in the Helbersberg and Ofenauer tunnels on Tuesday evening at 8:15 PM and 9:45 PM. The highway will be completely closed for about 30 minutes. It is therefore not possible to avoid the B159. Cars have to wait at the barriers, emergency vehicles can drive through the tunnels in an emergency.
