PV terminations – “I was shocked at first, but I don’t regret it”

Date:

Due to the collapse of electricity prices, 20,000 Energie AG customers in Upper Austria now have to make do with significantly less money for feeding in from photovoltaic systems. An affected customer answers the question of whether the expensive system is still worth it to him, but also what the electricity grid operator could have done better.

“It was of course shocking, after all, a lot of money has been invested in the PV system. And suddenly you realize that there is not much left financially,” says Erwin Felber from Braunau, describing his first reaction to Energie AG’s termination letter. The 82-year-old engineering graduate is one of around 20,000 Energie AG customers whose profitable feed-in tariff contracts will be canceled and replaced with much lower tariffs.
