A serious industrial accident involving a young boy (14) occurred in Tarrenz in the Tyrolean district of Imst on Tuesday evening: the teenager cut his leg with a hand-held circular saw. He was flown to hospital.
The 14-year-old was doing woodwork in a garage when the accident occurred. According to police, as he was about to cut a piece of wood with a circular saw, for unknown reasons he slipped and cut himself on the back of his right thigh with the circular saw. The teen suffered a cut about four inches long.
Mother provided first aid
The boy’s mother, who was in the next room at the time of the accident, administered first aid and called emergency services, who treated his wound. The 14-year-old was then flown to Zams district hospital by emergency helicopter.
