A rather troublesome incident on Wednesday evening in Puch/Weiz in Eastern Styria: While driving, a tractor suddenly started to burn. Fortunately, the farmer was able to save himself.
On Wednesday around 11 p.m., a man from Eastern Styria in Puch near Weiz was still driving his tractor in his orchard. Suddenly flames came out of the dashboard. The 41-year-old tried to extinguish the fire by hand, but was unsuccessful and eventually had to get out of his burning vehicle to safety.
A witness who saw the incident called 112. The Puch bei Weiz fire brigade also quickly arrived on the scene, but the tractor could no longer be saved and completely burned out. Fortunately, no one was injured. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and under investigation.
