A 38-year-old from Oberland is currently facing serious charges at the Feldkirch Regional Court: he allegedly sexually abused his son several times. The mother’s statements are worrying.
The father of two underage boys has been due to appear in a jury trial at the Feldkirch Regional Court since Friday. According to the indictment, the previously innocent man sexually assaulted his eldest son between the ages of two and four and photographed the acts. That is why the 38-year-old must also answer for abuse of authority. The Oberlander has not yet pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
However, he is heavily burdened by the child’s mother, who states that she also witnessed an attack: she watched him from the terrace. When she then ran into the room, the 38-year-old jumped up and claimed he had done nothing.
But she had noticed changes in her son’s behavior much earlier and suspected sexual abuse: “Once the child’s father took a shower with our son. When the boy got out of the shower, he just looked at the ceiling and didn’t want to hear any more bedtime stories.”
On the advice of a therapist, she initially remained calm and kept a diary. However, when reading excerpts from the submissions, judge Silke Sandholzer expressed suspicion that the child’s mother could have unknowingly influenced the victim by asking leading questions.
A previously ordered psychological report had already confirmed that the victim was unable to give evidence due to his young age. The trial was postponed.
