Since Saturday evening there has been a feverish search for a missing hiker in the mountains of the Gailtal. The holidaymaker never returned from her tour. The search for the young woman lasted until late in the evening. A new attempt will be made on Sunday.
The holidaymaker drove her car to the Rudnigalm on Friday, where she also slept in the parking lot, to go out for a walk on Saturday. “She subsequently did not show up at the agreed meeting place with a friend,” the Carinthian State Police Directorate said. That is why a search was launched for the 26-year-old.
“The search for the missing woman was interrupted without results around 10:30 p.m. with the cooperation of the Hermagor Alpine Police, the police emergency helicopter and the Hermagor mountain rescue service,” the state police headquarters said.
