Three people died and 19 others were injured in a serious accident on the German Autobahn 14 near Halle an der Saale on Thursday. As the police announced Friday morning, a van rammed into a car with three occupants between the Halle-Trotha and Halle-Tornau interchanges. It was then thrown away and collided with another car and a second van.
All three occupants of the car – three people from Saxony – died at the accident site. A total of 14 people were seriously injured and five slightly injured in the accident. The youth football team SV Fortuna Magdeburg was also involved in the accident.

The football players are young people between the ages of 15 and 17. The team was on its way to a game in Merseburg (Saalekreis). All club members involved were taken to hospital. Nothing is known about the severity of the injuries.
The accident happened around 5 p.m., according to police. “Two cars and two vans are involved. Several people were trapped in their vehicles,” said a police spokesman.
