A 22-year-old man was attacked with a knife by a previously unknown person in the Viennese district of Ottakring on Saturday evening. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to the back. The investigation is ongoing.
When the police were called to Brunnengasse around 2:45 a.m., the injured man was lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds. Vienna’s professional rescue service provided medical first aid. The injured person was then taken to a hospital. There is no danger to life and an interrogation has not yet been possible.
Blade secured
The suspected murder weapon, a 31 centimeter long knife, was seized next to the victim. As the investigations showed, there was probably an argument between two groups on Yppenplatz before the knife attack. The search for the perpetrator is in full swing.
