A temporary total end of the Pyhrnautobahn took place on Saturday morning near Mautern: a car fell in full fire – and of all the things in the area of the construction site.
The Mautern Volunteer Fire Brigade was informed of a vehicle fire on the A9 around 9.15 am. A car was on fire in the area of the construction site in the direction of Graz. Because there was adjacent traffic in the area of the construction site there, the highway had to be blocked in both directions.
Together with the Kalwang Volunteer Fire Brigade, the extinguishing work was carried out under heavy respiratory protection. The ASFINAG Police Police and employees were also deployed. Fortunately, the vehicle director was able to free himself from the burning car on time, so that no people were injured. The use lasted approximately two hours, after which the highway could be released again.
