A 77-year-old man is missing in Burgenland. The pensioner left his home in Mischendorf on Sunday morning to go to the European elections. There has been no trace of him since.
On Sunday evening, the cousin of the 77-year-old man from Mischendorf reported the disappearance to the police. The cheerful retiree left his house around 10 a.m. to cast his vote for the EU elections at the Mischendorf town hall. It is currently unknown where the man drove his green Ford Ranger with Oberwarter license plates after the elections.

However, it is believed the man traveled into the flood zone to investigate the situation.
Hours of search
Family members, fellow hunters and members of the Mischendorf Volunteer Fire Department began the search for the missing person early Sunday afternoon.
After reporting the incident to the police, the search continued with various police and fire brigades from Mischendorf, Kotezicken and Großpetersdorf, as well as police and fire brigade drones.
The search had to be halted at 11:20 PM and is currently continuing. There are currently 20 police officers, 30 firefighters and 2 police dogs present.
