A 56-year-old from Salzburg was sentenced on Wednesday by a jury at the Salzburg Regional Court to an unconditional prison sentence of nine years on charges of serious sexual abuse of minors. The man is said to have repeatedly abused his daughter.
Between May 2010 and December 2013, he is said to have repeatedly performed acts that resembled sexual intercourse. The girl was between five and eight years old during this period.
The daughter suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. The father allegedly filmed a sexual assault, which is why he was also convicted of “explicit, sexually related child abuse material and explicit, sexually related images of minors.”
Don’t judge definitively
According to the indictment, the criminal offenses always took place while the mother of the child, to whom the man was married, was not at home. The suspect, who lives in Tennengau, initially denied the crime during the investigation, but confessed after questioning the victim.
Because neither the Public Prosecution Service nor the defense have ruled on the verdict, it is not legally binding.
