A 22-year-old was allegedly robbed and threatened with a knife in a Vienna subway. The young man immediately reported the incident to the Vienna police. Now it turns out: it was all just made up. The Austrian is said to have been “very drunk” that evening…
According to the Vienna police, the 22-year-old came to the inspection in early June and described the incident. That night he was threatened with a butterfly knife by two unknown male perpetrators in a subway car and then robbed.
No robbery ever took place
During the investigation and review of the secure video footage, investigators learned that no such incident had occurred at the indicated locations.
The man was very drunk
The man was therefore interrogated again and confronted with the knowledge he had acquired. He then told the officers that he had been very drunk that night. The incident happened like this in his ‘memory’. The Austrian refused to make any further statements.
A report was filed against him on suspicion of falsifying an act punishable by law and giving false evidence.
